The following is an autobiography by a Jacobs’ Journal staff member.
Hello! My name is Sukanya Krishna (Suki for short) and I am a Cognitive Science major with a specialization in Machine Learning with a minor in Linguistics at Marshall college class of 2024. Delving from my love for robotics and automation related to practical application, most of my research and academic interests lie in the realm of neural networks and deep learning, brain-machine interaction, and artificial intelligence. During my free time, I really enjoy listening to music, crocheting, and watching movies!
Due to COVID and attending school in a remote environment, I found it difficult to find ways to connect with my peers. I first heard about Jacobs’ Journal through a promotion sent out by our current editor-in-chief Trisha announcing that Jacob’s Journal was recruiting new members. I immediately found that this would be a great opportunity for me to get to understand research through discussing and working on writing about research with my peers. In addition to building a more rounded knowledge about the research fields that I am interested in, I hope to be able to apply these skills and knowledge further in my undergraduate career or when I get involved in graduate school as well! I look forward to connecting with more peers, and hopefully when I come to the UCSD campus I’ll be able to meet the amazing individuals I have been able to connect with already!
